1. How does Shelley defend poetry and why? Analyze it critically on the basis of his essay, A Defence of Poetry.

 Discuss the main ideas expressed in Shelley’s essay, A Defence of Poetry.

Unit—B

2. What are the different views expressed by Coleridge in his Biographia Literaria (XIV) about imagination and fancy? Discuss. 

 Or 

How does Coleridge prove himself a real romanticist? Elaborate your ideas in the light of Biographia Literaria.

3. “Poetry is a criticism of life under the conditions fixed for that criticism by the laws of poetic truth and poetic beauty.” Discuss it in the light of Arnold’s essay, The Study of Poetry.
